Excellent thoughts about life, finance and business.While most of the ideas presented are timeless, I do wish that some of the facts and figures used in the 2009 book could be updated to current measures (for example, CEO salaries in relation to average employee compensation).

If you invest your own money, please get this, read it, and "get it." I've read about Mr. Bogle for decades, and he is one of my heroes, so it was a fun read for me.

A lovely book, filled with the wisdom of a wise man - and not just about investing. I gave it to my father for his birthday and he liked it, even though he's read a lot of books on investing.

Iconic author with sage advice for the masses on life and investing. The Bogleheads forum online provides even more great info if you're interest in investing, consumer, finance issues.

Swedroe, Bernstein, Bogle, Larimore, Buffet. Get them. Then get online to the "Bogleheads forum", or Morningstar forum.They are a must for personal investment finance for retirees and those working toward a healthy retirement.

I know this sounds cliched but if there is one financial book to read, this is it. If more people followed Bogle's approach many more people, who have had the opportunity to build wealth, would be financially secure. Instead of too many willingly and stupidly hand over their money to the many wolves of Wall Street or simply do not accept the necessity of deferring income.Getting wealthy takes time and patience, but no luck or rocket science.

I really enjoyed this book however after awhile it got kind of repetitious because the author was making a very good point. Basically he was stressing that the investment community is really screwed up today and is responsible for a lot of the economic troubles in this country, and individuals are best served by following his mantra of buying index funds with minimal costs for investors. Personally I totally agree with Mr. Bogle on this one and actually have a large chunk of my money in his S&P fund. If you are wondering why the economy is in ruins, why people in finance get paid so much and/or where to put your money you should read this book.

If we as Americans did a better job of teaching personal finance to our population starting at a very young age - the majority of consumers would have recognized a sour deal/mortgage at the outset. Finance has evolved into an "insider" playground leaving the average consumer in the wake of it's unethical monetary tsunami.John Bogle has always been at the forefront of making financial institutions accountable and transparent ... he does a great job of explaining how the entire banking system and Wall Street juggernaut got so out of control! This is a must read ... I just wish Mr. Bogle were running the Fed right now. This book is a life preserver in the shark infested waters of our current financial maelstrom.
