I ordered this after really loving the Solar System book by the same author. The other book has actual scientific facts along with the beautiful pages. This one doesn't and is more of a watered down "what do we wear" for which weather sort of thing. Bummed.

Helpful heads up...Love this series of books, started with the Solar one which had fun facts about the planets! Great intro to astronomy! So, I got the Backyard Bugs (which was equally factual) and Weather one... just thought a helpful disclosure to fellow parents would be that unlike the other two, the Weather book doesn't have facts about weather. Rather it's outlining what clothes to wear for which type of weather, snow, sun, rain etc. Was surprised and a little disappointed because my 3 yr old asks a lot of questions about the why's and how's of weather. BUT its still a darling book, just thought I'd point out the difference in approach to content, especially since it's part of a series. :-)

I stumbled upon this as an Amazon recommendation when I was looking at STEM books for babies. Maybe that was Amazon's fault, but when I read in the description: "It’s a perfect way to bring science and nature into the busy world of a toddler, where learning never stops," I expected this book to have a smidgeon of reference to the science and/or nature of weather. "There's a cloud. Rain comes from the clouds." Would have been enough for my expectations. Instead, the ONLY thing this book is about is clothing. "Is it hot and sunny? Wear your sun hat, T-shirt, shorts, and sandals." "Can you hear the wind? Pull on your jacket, earmuffs, and warm pants." And so on. This would get an okay rating from me if it weren't for the false advertising. This is not a book that has any hint of science, and it is annoying to me that it is advertised that way, because the last gift I want to give my friends who are lamenting that their toddler is being socially pressured into caring about clothing instead of learning, is a learning book that is *only* about clothing.

My son loves this book, he has it memorized. However, I do wish it had more "fun fact" type information like the other ones in the series. It's basically just what to wear in different kinds of weather, whereas the other Hello, World! books have cool facts like "a cricket chirps by rubbing its wings together" or "[Saturn's] rings are made of ice, dust, and rock." Something on the snow page about how snow is made of frozen water crystals, for example, would be in keeping with the other books, but there's nothing like that.

I purchased this book after having the solar system book. This one is just blah. I was hoping it would be more scientific in what weather was instead of just what do you wear for each type. Was quite disappointed with this book.

I needed something extremely basic for my 2 year old son to understand the weather or even to identify the weather. This book DOES NOT meet that need, but it met another need. It teaches what to wear each day given the weather. That works for my son perfectly who is having trouble communicating... it gives him pictures to reference and helps him understand why mommy it putting a sweater on him. Overall, its not a good book for teaching the weather, but more what to wear given the weather.

Least favorite of the 4 in this series by Jill McDonald but still one of our top go-to books. Maybe the concept of weather is still a little too advanced for our 14mo.

I was hoping it would talk a little bit about how weather "works" so to speak. Instead it's more a look outside and what should we wear today book. Disappointing but it does have sweet illustrations.
