I ordered this Legal Brief book when I was struggling with Contracts, so I only used it for the last quarter of the semester or so. It was helpful when I needed briefs but didn't have time to take notes myself (the pages are perforated so you can tear them out easily and make them apart of your class notebook). This book is especially good at pulling out the black letter law from the cases, which a lot of students struggle with early in law school. One thing I particularly liked about the book was that it defined terms that most people wouldn't know off the top of their head (and don't feel like googling when they have ten other cases to read). It is a good supplement, but that is all, there is no replacement for actually reading the textbook and the cases therein. However, new copies are a little pricey, considering the fact that many of the cases in this book are briefed online for free.
Finding this book saved my butt!! I will be buying this supplement series for every class in law school forward (I've already got both for my current classes).Quick 1 page briefs of every case in the Case Book. Sometimes the main points/rules don't always match up to what the teacher thinks is important, but every teacher is different. Cases and Materials on Contracts, 8th (University Casebook Series)
As a 1L, these case briefs have made my life significantly easier when it comes to figuring out if my own briefs are covering everything that is relevant to the cases. I wouldn't say these are absolutely necessary or will guarantee you an A, but they're definitely super helpful when you're trying to figure out if you're on the right track. Plus the analysis section of the case briefs help give you a concrete example of how you should go about analyzing cases.
Not very helpful because the briefs are oversimplified, and and not what my professors are looking for.
Very helpful to anyone who is studying Contracts in their first year. Highly recommend!
