I'm so disappointed! My son had gotten this game for his 2 daughters to play. We all played and loved it! When I ordered it to use with my RtI students - kdg. and 1st graders, the game I received was very scaled down as compared to my son's game. No board, no cube (as cheesy as it was) which totally changed the game! No shaking of a die, no moving around a board. Took a lot of the fun for the little ones at home and at school. No fun way to acquire an article, noun or verb. Haven't really figured out how to play this game as it is right now. Wish I could return it! Please bring back the original game - no it wasn't perfect but so much more fun for the kiddos!
My kid has this game in her classroom. i wanted her to have more practice outside of class. It's a fun learning game. I wish there were a few more word options. I'm sure they keep it simple for beginning learners. But I find my kid wanting to add words. So we write them on paper and add them to the sentence line. But each piece is a puzzle piece connection, making the scrap paper additions look sloppy. So it would be nice if there were blank puzzle pieces that they could write in dry erase marker to make up their own words.The game has a big selection of nouns, but needs more adjectives, verbs and adverbs. And blank puzzle pieces that can be inserted for learners custom words.
This is a well thought out game for new readers who are ready to learn very basic grammer. The physical quality is also very high. We are keeping the card residue to create other word groups when our grand daughter masters the basic game. The negative forms are made of sturdy card board so we can keep this going for a very long time.
I bought this for my nephew as a 6th birthday gift. He opened it and I helped him sort the words by type (though he was able to do it himself once we got going as they are color coded) and he started making sentences right away. He enjoyed reading the silly sentences he had made to everyone. I would definitely recommend this for a child who has basic reading skills.
I bought these silly sentences for our writing center at home. They are so awesome. They are a great addition to our writing station and homeschooling routine. My son loves them and cracks up over the silly sentences he can create. They are a great addition for homeschooling, Public School teachers, and even just to supplement your child's learning at home as well. I am very happy with the product and will be buying from DK games again.
Not bad at all for the price. It’s at about a first or K level? My dyslexic daughter likes it, just realize there are only limited word options. I like how the words fit together as puzzle pieces. I might get the more difficult levels.
Great and fun product to use and play with your youngster. Encourages creativity and a great learning tool for pre-K.
My kids love using this Silly Sentence game once a week during school! It's an awesome learning game. I would highly recommend buying this to anyone with school aged kids that are currently learning to read and write!
